Getting Started
Pabbly Studio Team•Updated Oct 1, 2026•2 min readThese are the words you will see in Pabbly Studio and in this documentation. They are grouped by where you will meet them.
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| App | Anything you build in Pabbly Studio, such as a tool, a website, a portal or a game. Each app has its own link, database and version history. |
| Builder | The screen where you work on an app. The chat is on the left and your app is on the right. |
| Preview | The live view of your app inside the builder. |
| Data tab | The place where you can browse the records your app has saved. |
| Environment variables | Keys and tokens your app needs to work with other services, such as an SMS key or a payment key. You add them in the Environment tab. |
| Term | What it means |

| Prompt / message | What you type in the chat to describe your app or a change you want. |
| Build mode | The normal mode of the message box. In this mode, your message changes the app and creates a new version. |
| Plan mode | A mode where Pabbly Studio only answers your question or suggests ideas in words. It does not change anything in your app. |
| Point and edit | Clicking Edit and then clicking a part of your app in the preview. This shows Pabbly Studio exactly what you want to change. |
| Attachments | Images and PDFs you attach to a message for Pabbly Studio to read. |
| Run | The work Pabbly Studio does on one message, from start to finish. Each run uses AI credits. |
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Version | A saved copy of your app at a point in time. A new version (v1, v2, v3…) is saved every time your app changes. |
| Rollback | Making an earlier version live again. The rollback is saved as a new version, so nothing is lost. |
| Deploy / deployed | Publishing your app to its live link. Pabbly Studio deploys your app automatically after every change. |
| Live link | Your app's public web address, for example your-app-name.pabbly.app. Anyone with the link can open your app. |
| Custom domain | Your own web address, such as app.yourcompany.com, connected to your app. This is available on the Standard and Unlimited plans. |
| Active / Inactive | Shows whether an app is switched on. Visitors to an inactive app see "This app is currently unavailable". An inactive app does not count towards your plan's app limit. |
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| AI credits | What you spend when Pabbly Studio works on your messages. To see the credits used by a message, hover over its timestamp. |
| Plan | Your Pabbly Studio subscription (Free, Standard or Unlimited). It decides how many active apps you can have. |
| Connections | A way to link Pabbly Studio to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, so you can manage your apps from there. |
